Our History
My name is Donna Clemons and I live in Gallatin, Tennessee. My son is a United States Marine who has been deployed on four tours of duty to Iraq. When not deployed, Sgt. Ross is stationed at Camp Pendleton with his wife, Tram, who is also a Marine.
When Zach was deployed to Iraq in 2003, I didn’t know anyone that was going through the roller coaster of emotions that I was going through. I had never heard of the Yahoo Groups and was so alone. Family members just did not understand. I later became a member of another military group but the members could only connect via internet due to the long distance of everyone. There was a post from a Tennessee Marine mom who was holding a luncheon! I attended that luncheon and came away with a feeling I've never had before, somewhat like what our Marines must hold dear to them. We all shared a common bond and understood the very emotions that we live every day.
I wanted to expand on this first luncheon and have a place where we moms could not only meet every month for lunch, but where we could have constant contact with "all" Tennessee Marine family members. I had a vision one night and thought, wouldn't it be nice to have a group of Marine family members who could communicate with each other and support each other using their computer and in person?
Hence, I founded Tennessee Marine Family!! read full story

OUR MISSION
Members of the Tennessee Marine Family join together in camaraderie and fellowship for the purpose of preserving the traditions and supporting the interests of the United States Marine Corps, all active duty, reserve, honorably discharged Marines and their family members. This is accomplished by supporting those who are now serving in the United States Marine Corps and those who have been honorably discharged from that service; voluntarily aiding and rendering assistance to all Marines and former Marines and to their widows and orphans, and by perpetuating the history of the United States Marine Corps through fitting acts of support and to promote awareness of the Marines and the sacrifices made by them and their families.

Dear Marine Family,
Thank you for your vote of confidence in electing me President of Tennessee Marine Family. The high standards our founder and past president, Donna Clemons, has provide will serve as guidelines for all of us. We can never thank her enough for her strength, character and insight as she developeand brought to life the Tennessee Marine Family we know today! You have made an impact in all of our lives, Donna!
We remain steadfast in our goal to support all troops and their families with a special reverence to our Gold Star members.
When I joined TMF, over four years ago, it was a much needed lifeline as my son transitioned into the Marines and I assumed the role of "Marine Mom". I remember posting many questions which were never left unanswered. It was the reassuring comfort I needed and what we would like to extend to all our members. No matter the degree of involvement you presently enjoy in your membership, we appreciate your service and invite you to contact us whenever you need help.
Sincerely,
Arlene Smith, Pres.
Tennessee Marine Family
